LONG RANGE PRECISION 1.0

Level 1.0 Long Range Precision Course

Dates: May 19-20 (completed)

NOTE: This is a beginner Long Range Precision course NOT a beginner rifle course

If you only shoot 100 or maybe 200 yards at your range and you want to learn the basics of Long Range shooting, this is the course for you.  You must be able to shoot between a 2-3″ FIVE shot group at 100 yards so we know you have the basics of being a good trigger puller down.  You must have a rifle set up capable of consistency at 1000 yards, or rent a set up from us, and know the basics of operation of the weapon system.  (Call Jackson he is happy to go over your rifle set up with you)

2 Days Course

Price $795.00 per shooter: (deposit of $375 due when you register, balance due day of the course )

Camping and RV parking on the grounds is free.  There are several hotels in the area, we usually stay at the Super 8 which is 3 miles down the road. Class fill up quickly. We will be starting at 8AM  – we recommend coming up the night before and crashing at the clubhouse.

DAY 1

8 AM  Check in at clubhouse and go over safety rules and procedures.  Classroom from 8am-10:30am.   All other instruction will take place during live fire on the range.

All shooting will be done from the Prone Shooting Position.  We will then begin our 100 yard sight in confirmations.  Shooters MUST show up with their rifle zeroed at 100 yards.  Some adjustments may need to be made, so we will take our time to get this correct for each shooter.

Once all shooters are sighted in, we will begin to engage targets at increasing distances.  Shooters will begin logging elevation and windage data for each distance.  Target distances we can expect to reach 1000 yards by the end of the day!

We Will Break For Lunch, we will provide burgers, hot dogs, sides and beverages for everyone on Friday.  We have a grill available for students to use at the firing line.   Feel free to bring coolers, portable grills, lawn chairs, etc

We will break for the day around 4:30 PM, but  the line will stay hot until 5 PM for shooters who feel they need extra work, need to make adjustments, or just want to bang steel. Spotting scopes will be available for students to use to spot for each other.  Feel free to bring other rifles if you like, we can help you get quick data on them.

DAY 2

Meet at the range at 8:00 and start the day with a long range cold bore shot.

Day 2 will include doping the range for the change in atmospheric conditions, basic UKD (unknown distance estimation drill )  and reticle ranging. Finish up by 3pm the latest.
