New for 2025  Defensive Pistol Course

This is an intro to Defensive Pistol course and will cover the basics of drawing from an external holster (not concealed carry), grip, stance, sight alignment, sight picture, trigger control, and recoil management.  Range drills will include magazine changes, malfunctions, shooting from various positions, shooting around barricades and vehicles, and the basics of pistol room clearing. This is not a concealed carry class.

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS

Good range safety and safe weapon handling.

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

 External Holster attached to your belt with retention: Drop leg okay, no inside the waistband holsters, no nylon, NO SERPA holsters.   3-5 magazines (10 round okay), at least 2 magazine pouches (belt or body armor mounted)

600 rounds of ammunition (fmj is fine)

Red Dot or Holographic Optic optional, weapon mounted flashlight recommneded but not required.

Hand held Flashlight if not attached to your weapon.

Come low profile or in full kit, your choice

SAFETY EQUIPMENT: MUST HAVE

  • Wrap around eye protection
  • Ear protection

OTHER GEAR 

  • Note taking supplies, pen and paper
  • Proper Clothing – Dress for the weather
  • Proper footwear  – no man sandals or flops !!
  • Hat or headwear for the sun
  • Bug Spray – Tick Spray – Spring and Summer can get buggy
  • Food, snacks and water (you can not leave for lunch)

Cancellation Policy

Registration fee is non-refundable

Cancellations made 60 days or more before course date: 50% refund

Cancellations made 60 – 30 days before course date: 25% refund

Cancellations made less than 30 days Prior to Training:  No refund and remaining balance must be paid in full.

You may find someone to fill in for you, so you don’t lose your deposit.

You will not be able to register for any other courses until that balance is paid. If we have other deposits from you for another course, we will apply that to the money owed, and a new deposit/s will be needed.

LODGING DETAILS

This course will be held at the Ben Franklin Range located at 1130 Ridge Road, Templeton PA 16259.  The range has a very nice bunk house that can sleep up to 12 students, the bunks include all linens, pillows, and towels. The rooms have bunkbeds, you will be sharing with other guys, some upper and lower bunk beds, 3 full baths with showers, a full kitchen with range, microwave, coffee pots, an outdoor grill, and a great view!! Highly recommended to stay on site.
